2:8. പിന്നെ ബഹൂരീമിലെ ബെന്യാമീന്യനായ ഗേരയുടെ മകൻ ശിമെയി എന്നൊരുവൻ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഞാൻ മഹനയീമിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന ദിവസം അവൻ എന്നെ കഠിനശാപത്തോടെ ശപിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും അവൻ യോർദ്ദാങ്കൽ എന്നെ എതിരേറ്റുവന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊല്ലുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ യഹോവാനാമത്തിൽ അവനോടു സത്യംചെയ്തു.

2:8. "Note well, you still have to contend with Shimei son of Gera, the Benjaminite from Bahurim, who tried to call down upon me a horrible judgment when I went to Mahanaim. He came down and met me at the Jordan, and I solemnly promised him by the LORD, 'I will not strike you down with the sword.'

2:8. "And remember Shimei son of Gera, the man from Bahurim in Benjamin. He cursed me with a terrible curse as I was fleeing to Mahanaim. When he came down to meet me at the Jordan River, I swore by the LORD that I would not kill him.

2:8. And, behold, there is with thee Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I sware to him by Jehovah, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

2:8. And there is also with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjaminite from Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse on the day when I went to Mahanaim. But when he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the LORD, saying, 'I will not put you to death with the sword.'

2:8. "And remember, Shimei son of Gera is still around. He is the Benjamite from Bahurim who cursed me when I ran away to Mahanaim. But when he came down to meet me at the Jordan River, I made a promise to him before the Lord that I would not kill him.

2:8. Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by Yahweh, saying, I will not put you to death with the sword.
